“Mentorship and coaching”

In 2013 RESOURCE recruitment launched “career RESOURCES”- a division that focuses on assisting job seekers with CV preparation, interview technique and etiquette, how to answer challenging interview questions and a host of other topics- many of which you will find under our “Candidate Advice” page on this website.  We get involved with various career days at schools and varsities, and recently held a very successful “Youth Day Programme” where we were privileged to interview, coach and assist dozens of Youth with advice on how to launch their careers.  Each consultant has a set number of people that they need to meet with and assist each month.  If you feel that you could benefit from this free service to our community, please email and we will do our best to accommodate you.

For the past three years RESOURCE recruitment has offered an internship to a matriculant from the Upper Highway Area, who could not study further the year after matriculating.  Certain minimum requirements are stipulated, and once applicants are employed on contract, they are offered free internal and external training courses and schooled in a wide variety of duties.  Interns leave us with an excellent knowledge of general office duties such as reception, switchboard, liaising with the public in writing, telephonically and in person, as well as dealing with extensive written communication via email and letters.  They get an in-depth knowledge of Human Resources, including practically short listing candidates for interviews, administering tests and assessments, typing CV’s, ITC and criminal checks as well as reference checking candidates and maintaining their personnel files.  On the marketing side of things, our interns get actively involved in promotions- coming up with ideas and campaigns as part of the team, sourcing and procuring promotional items, implementing marketing campaigns and data base management on our CRM software.  RESOURCE recruitment are also leaders in e-recruitment, with an email data base of over 25 000 job seekers and very active social media accounts.  The practical experience that they gain in basic DTP and graphic design, as well as posting on and managing the company social media accounts, will challenge any knowledge they would gain in formal studies, as this is such a dynamic and fast moving environment.  Having worked in such a fast paced, yet nurturing environment, means that our interns leave here with a wealth of experience, and generally a good idea as to what career will hold their passion.  We are also very proud of the fact that we have successfully placed every intern we have had with our clients, and love watching them grow in their careers.

Kirsten Glen, the owner of RESOURCE recruitment, has been involved with the college intermittently for over 20 years, and in 2016 decided that it was time to get actively involved again with this amazing organization.  Argus Community College is an evening school that is essentially free to disadvantaged  members of the community, and to any one in general who wants to improve themselves.  It offers a range of courses to adults- assisting adults to go back to school to obtain their matric; assisting adults to learn to read and write; offers both conversational and formal English and Zulu courses; computer literacy; cultural activities; as well as practical skills such as First Aid, Sewing, Home Based Care and Child Care Courses.  Over the past two decades Argus Community College has assisted thousands of adults to obtain their matric and improve their skills, and subsequently that of their families.  If you would like to learn more about this remarkable college, or to offer assistance, email

In addition to the above mentioned projects, RESOURCE recruitment is made up of real people, with big hearts and a passion for people, so there are always projects and initiatives that we are getting involved with, or partnering with our clients and candidates on.  These include collecting clothes and food for various causes, baking biscuits for the elderly who are often forgotten and throwing an annual Year End Party for The Ark Ministries in Cato Ridge.  Keep an eye on our Facebook Page to see what we are up to and where you can get involved!
